Department Information

Shri Shahaji Chhatrapati Mahavidyalaya was established in 1971. The Department of Geography for degree studies started from 1974. Prof. K. M. Keche, Prof. S. R. Gharge, Dr. H. S. Vanmore, a renowned professor, taught geography and later held the post of Head of the Department of Geography. Currently Prof. R. M. Kamble is working as the head of the department and Dr. Mrs. N. D. Kashid-Patil and Dr. D. L. Kashid-Patil is an Assistant Professor teaching Geography.

भूगोल विभाग

1971 साली श्री शहाजी छत्रपती महाविद्यालय स्थापन झाले. महाविद्यालयातंर्गत बी.ए. पदवी अध्ययनाचा भूगोलशास्त्र विभाग सन 1974 पासून सुरू झाला. प्रा. के. एम. केचे, प्रा. एस. आर. घारगे, प्रा. डॉ. एच. एस. वनमोरे या नामवंत प्राध्यापकांनी भूगोलशास्त्र अध्यापनाचे कार्य केले तसेच कालांतराने भूगोलशास्त्र विभागप्रमुख पदाची धुरा सांभाळली. सध्या प्रा. आर. एम. कांबळे विभागप्रमुख पदी कार्यरत असून डॉ. सौ. एन. डी. काशिद-पाटील व प्रा. डॉ. डी. एल. काशिद-पाटील हे सहाय्यक प्राध्यापक भूगोलशास्त्र अध्यापनाचे कार्य करीत आहेत.

Facilities

College Architectural Classroom Department of Geography is functioning at 18th and 19th. In room no. 18 there is LCD with computer system & the projector facility has a lecture class and is equipped with various maps on the wall. In room no. 19 is a Geography there is Laboratory with various maps, geographical equipment, computers, small library and faculty meeting facilities.

सोयी-सुविधा

महाविद्यालयाच्या वास्तुतील क्लासरुम नं. 18 व 19 येथे भूगोलशास्त्र विभाग कार्यरत आहे. रुम नं. 18 हा संगणक व्यवस्थेसह एल.सी.डी. प्रोजेक्टर सुविधेचा व्याख्यान वर्ग असून तो भिंतीवरील विविध नकाशांनी सुसज्ज आहे. रुम नं. 19 ही भूगोलशास्त्र प्रयोगशाळा असून तेथे विविध नकाशे, भौगोलिक उपकरणे, संगणक, छोटे ग्रंथालय आणि प्राध्यापक बैठक व्यवस्था अशा सुविधा आहेत.

Departmental Libraries

The Department of Geography has an independent library with 18 textbooks, 47 reference books, 27 copies of research journals, 36 maps, 5 CDs. Also available for study are topographic maps, aerial photographs and satellite imagery.

विभागीय ग्रंथालय

भूगोलशास्त्र विभागाचे स्वतंत्र ग्रंथालय असून येथे अभ्यासक्रमाची 18 पुस्तके, 47 संदर्भ ग्रंथ, संशोधन जर्नलच्या 27 कॉपीज, 36 नकाशासंग्रह, 5 सी.डी. तसेच स्थलनिर्देशक नकाशे, हवाई छायाचित्रे व उपग्रह प्रतीमा अभ्यासाठी उपलब्ध आहेत.

Innovation

Innovations like Masai Plateau Walking, One Day Farm, Soil Testing as well as Health Examination of the students of the department are implemented. At the same time, the department's 'blog' is working and the study material is being made available to the students through the blog.

नवोपक्रम

मसाई पठार पदभ्रमंती, एक दिवस शेतावर, मृदा परीक्षण याबरोबरच विभागाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांची आरोग्य विषयक तपासणी यासारखे नवोपक्रम राबविले जातात. त्याचबरोबर विभागाचा ‘ब्लॉग’ कार्यरत असून विद्यार्थ्यांना अध्ययन साहित्य ब्लॉगद्वारे उपलब्ध होत आहे.

WhatsApp group

WhatsApp groups of first, second and third year students were formed from the academic year 2019-20. Video lectures, study materials, questionnaires as well as important suggestions, student feedback are exchanged through WhatsApp group.

WhatsApp ग्रुप

शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2019-20 पासून प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय वर्ष विद्यार्थी-विद्यार्थिनींचे WhatsApp ग्रुप तयार करण्यात आले. व्हिडिओ लेक्चर्स, अध्ययन साहित्य, प्रश्नावली याबरोबरच महत्त्वाच्या सूचना, विद्यार्थी प्रतिक्रिया यांचे आदान-प्रदान WhatsApp ग्रुपच्या माध्यमातून करण्यात येते.

Internal Assessment Methods:

Internal evaluation of students is done through question board, open book exam, pre-examination, seminar, project report, oral examination, journal assessment. Third year students get internal merit by checking internal assessment writing book.

अंतर्गत मूल्यमापन पद्धती :

विद्यार्थ्यांच्या अंतर्गत मूल्यमापनासाठी प्रश्नपेढी, ओपन बुक एक्झाम, पूर्व परीक्षा, सेमिनार, प्रोजेक्ट रिपोर्ट, मौखिक परीक्षा, जर्नल असेसमेंट या पद्धतीद्वारे विद्यार्थ्यांचे मूल्यमापन करण्यात येते. तृतीय वर्षाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांची अंतर्गत मूल्यमापन लेखन वही तपासून अंतर्गत गुणदान होते.
