Department Information
Shri Shahaji Chhatrapati Mahavidyalaya was established in 1971 and the Marathi department started functioning in the same year.
From the very beginning, eminent professors have been teaching in the Marathi department. In this, the first principal of the college, Dr. S. S. Bhosale, Dr. Chandrakumar Nalge, Dr. L. R. Nasirabadkar, Dr. D. B. Ratnakar. At present Prof. Dr. D. K. Valvi is managing the responsibility of Marathi Department and with him Principal Dr. R. K. Shanediwan has been teaching for a long time.
मराठी विभाग
1971 साली श्री शहाजी छत्रपती महाविद्यालयाची स्थापना झालेली असून याच वर्षी मराठी विभाग कार्यरत होऊन विभागाची स्थापना 1974 साली झाली.
मराठी विभागामध्ये सुरूवातीपासून नामवंत प्राध्यापकांनी अध्यापनाचे कार्य केले आहे. यामध्ये महाविद्यालयाचे पहिले प्राचार्य डॉ. एस. एस. भोसले, प्रा. डॉ. चंद्रकुमार नलगे, डॉ. ल. रा. नसिराबादकर, डॉ. डी. बी. रत्नाकर यांचा समावेश आहे. सध्या मराठी विभागाची जबाबदारी प्रा. डॉ. डी. के. वळवी सांभाळत असून त्यांच्यासोबत प्राचार्य डॉ. आर. के. शानेदिवाण दीर्घकाळ अध्यापनाची सेवा बजावत आहेत.

Vission
To develope Marathi language and literature in the perspective of Globalization.
Mission
- To explore Modern Marathi Literature, Creative literature, Sociology of literature, applied and creative language skills.
- To develope, applied and professional writing skills, similarly, emphasis must be given on use of modern technology.
- To develope literature and language teaching at various levels. Preparing dictionaries and research of various dialects of Marathi is necessary.
- To create literary awareness in the new generation.
Objectives
- Promote studies in Marathi language and literature
- Promote literary skills of the students.
- Make sensitive, learned, cultured and ideal citizens for the nation.
- Provide guidance for the preparation of carrers in Marathi Language & Literature.
- To Promote proper attitudes towards various dialects of Marathi.
- To foster practice of creative writing and studies in applied language skills.
Facilities (सोयी-सुविधा)
The Marathi Department includes the following facilities. The information has been providedd to the students about the writers and poets who have made significant contributions since the beginning of Marathi. ICT in teaching. (Computer, LCD projector) devices are used effectively. In order to understand the literary thought process of the dignitaries, a collection of lectures, poets' conventions, CDs, videos, films, plays, documentaries, short films, posters etc. have been kept in the department. Necessary reference books, text books, question sets are provided to the students along with the study papers.
Digital boards have been displayed for college students in Marathi department. Through this digital panel, Bharatiya Jnanpith Award-winning literary V. S. Khandekar, V. V. Shirwadkar, V. D. Karandikar and Bhalchandra Nemade are briefly introduced and literary works are introduced. Similar to the Bharatiya Dnyanpeeth Award, the Sahitya Akademi Award in Marathi Literature was given to Vasant Abaji Dahake, Ashok Kelkar, Manik Godghate, Jayant Pawar, Satish Kalsekar in Marathi language from 1955 to 2020. Jayant Narlikar, Arun Khopkar, Asaram Lomte, Shrikant Deshmukh, M. Su. A digital panel has been created by compiling the information of Sahitya Akademi Award winning writers Patil and Salim Mulla.
A digital board has been made about brief introduction & introduction to literary work in order to provide information to the students of Marathi Department.
मराठी विभागामध्ये पुढील सोयी-सुविधांचा समावेश आहे. मराठीच्या सुरूवातीच्या काळापासून ज्या लेखक-कवींनी महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिले आहे अशा मान्यवरांची माहिती विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी उपलब्ध करून दिली आहे. अध्ययन-अध्यापन पद्धतीमध्ये आय.सी.टी. (संगणक, एल.सी.डी. प्रोजेक्टर) साधनांचा प्रभावीपणे वापर करण्यात येतो. मान्यवरांची साहित्यविषयक विचारप्रक्रिया समजून येण्याच्या दृष्टिने व्याख्याने, कवीसंमेलन, सी.डी.ज्, चित्रफिती, चित्रपट, नाटके, माहितीपट, लघुपट, भित्तीपत्रके इत्यादींचा संग्रह विभागामध्ये जतन करून ठेवलेला आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांना अभ्यासपत्रिकेच्या अनुषंगाने आवश्यक संदर्भ ग्रंथ, क्रमिक पुस्तके, प्रश्नसंच उपलब्ध करून देण्यात येतात.
मराठी विभागामध्ये महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी डिजिटल फलक लावण्यात आलेले आहेत. सदरच्या डिजिटल फलकाच्या माध्यमातून भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्काराने सन्मानीत साहित्यिक वि. स. खांडेकर, वि. वा. शिरवाडकर, विं. दा. करंदीकर आणि भालचंद्र नेमाडे यांचा संक्षिप्त परिचय आणि साहित्यकृतींची ओळख करून देण्यात आलेली आहे. भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्काराप्रमाणेच मराठी साहित्यातील साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार सन 1955 ते सन 2020 पर्यंतच्या मराठी भाषेतील वसंत आबाजी डहाके, अशोक केळकर, माणिक गोडघाटे, जयंत पवार, सतीश काळसेकर, डॉ. जयंत नारळीकर, अरूण खोपकर, आसाराम लोमटे, श्रीकांत देशमुख, म. सू. पाटील आणि सलीम मुल्ला या साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार प्राप्त साहित्यिकांची माहिती संकलित करून त्याचा डिजीटल फलक तयार करण्यात आलेला आहे.
कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्याला समृद्ध साहित्य परंपरा लाभलेली आहे. कोल्हापूर जिल्ह्यातील शिवाजी सावंत, विश्वास पाटील, राजन गवस, कृष्णात खोत, शंकर पाटील, रणजीत देसाई आणि आनंद यादव या साहित्यिकांचा संक्षिप्त परिचय आणि त्यांच्या साहित्यकृतीची ओळख मराठी विभागाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना व्हावी यासाठी डिजीटल फलक तयार करण्यात आलेला आहे.
Departmental Library (विभागीय ग्रंथालय)
The library of Marathi department is rich. Poems, stories, novels, plays, reviews, ideological biographies as well as 15 magazines are available in 150 bibliographies and reading culture is enhanced among the students. The editing process of the Marathi department of the college is rich and till now tribal literature, ideological literature and B.A. Part-1 Guidebook has been edited by Marathi Department.
मराठी विभागाचे ग्रंथालय समृद्ध आहे. 150 ग्रंथसंपदेत कविता, कथा, कादंबरी, नाटक, समीक्षा, वैचारिक, चरित्रात्मक ग्रंथ तसेच 15 मासिके उपलब्ध असून विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये वाचनसंस्कृती वृद्धिंगत केली जाते. महाविद्यालयाच्या मराठी विभागाची संपादन प्रक्रिया समृद्ध असून आत्तापर्यंत आदिवासी साहित्य, वैचारिक साहित्य आणि बी.ए. भाग-1 मार्गदर्शक पुस्तिका यांचे संपादन मराठी विभागाने केलेले आहे.
WhatsApp Group
The online learning process of the first, second and third year has started from the academic year 2020-21, for which group-wise WhatsApp groups of students have been formed. Based on this, lectures, reference materials, videos, audio, references on YouTube, questionnaires and the process of feedback are seriously implemented.
शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2020-21 पासून प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय वर्षासाठी ऑनलाईन अध्यापन प्रक्रिया सुरू केली असून यासाठी विद्यार्थी व विद्यार्थिनींचे तुकडीनिहाय WhatsApp ग्रुप तयार करण्यात आले आहेत. या आधारे व्याख्यान, संदर्भ साहित्य, व्हिडिओ, ऑडिओ, युट्युबवरील संदर्भ, प्रश्नसंच व त्याआधारे फिडबॅकची प्रक्रिया गंभीरपणे राबविण्यात येते.

Internal Evaluation Method (अंतर्गत मूल्यमापन पद्धती) :
For the evaluation method of students, question papers are set up using Bank, Open Book Exam, Preliminary Exam, Surprize Test, Oral Examination. In addition, the college has prepared an internal assessment book for the third year students, in which homework, seminars, projects are written.
विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मूल्यमापन पद्धतीसाठी प्रश्नपत्रिका संच बँक, ओपन बुक एक्झाम, प्रिलिमिनिरी एक्झाम, सरप्राईज टेस्ट, मौखिक परीक्षा या पद्धतींचा वापर करून विद्यार्थ्यांचे शैक्षणिक मूल्यमापन केले जाते. त्याचबरोबर तृतीय वर्षाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी महाविद्यालयाने अंतर्गत मूल्यमापन वही तयार केली असून यामध्ये, गृहपाठ, सेमिनार, प्रोजेक्ट यांचे लेखन करवून घेण्यात येते.
